We worked closely with Italian interior designer Umberto Branchini to create an open plan contemporary, highly detailed home. The design employed a restrained palette of travertine, light oaks, dark walnut, polished plaster walls and bronze accents. As well as a comprehensive internal refurbishment linked by a custom ribbon-like winding staircase, the reconfiguration included an extension into an unused light well at lower ground floor level, a bronze and glass contemporary extension and the creation of a new terrace leading out from the kitchen.
Full of personal details such as his and hers offices and an open plan living room featuring a bespoke Murano glass feature light, this project was an essay in balancing clean contemporary ‘high design’ with the essential day-to-day and comfortable elements required to make a house a home.
